The holy month of Ramadan for our Muslim colleagues began on Sunday, 10th March and will end on Tuesday, 9th April 2024 with the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Fasting plays an important role in many major religions and is a central feature in all the Abrahamic faiths. In Islam, adult Muslims, who are able to, are required to fast during the month of Ramadan.
Ramadan Packs are available to collect from both our Learning Centres throughout the Ramadan period.
Here's our Hospital Chaplain, Zeenat Hussain with Project SEARCH Intern, Beth Saville at CRH, and Radiographer, Maria Nadeem with Radiology Admin Manager, Anne Fryer at HRI, with some of the packs.
The packs* include a selection of items including:
- Water
- Sweets
- Dates
- Prayer mat
- Prayer beads
- Counters
- Miswak (chewing stick)
- Prayer timetables
- Ramadan Duas - (a supplication recited by Muslims during the holy month to seek Allah’s blessings, guidance, and mercy. It expresses gratitude for the opportunity to observe Ramadan and seeks forgiveness for any sins.)
*Contents may vary slightly from pack to pack because some have a counter and some have beads, or both.
