We need to carry out some essential water valve replacement works this week and next – this will affect hot water supplies only.

Week commencing Monday 18 March

  • The work this week will mean a loss of hot water only to A&E and CCU at CRH.
  • The work will take place over several nights for a maximum of four hours at a time.

They will begin at around 10.30pm on the evenings of Tuesday, 19th March and Wednesday, 20th March. It is possible they may run into Thursday, 21st March.

Cold water will still be available during this time so hand washing, basins and toilets can still be used. During this time bed pan washers will be affected due to lack of hot water.

EQUANS will be on site during this time and will inform staff when the hot water is available again and will be available to answer any queries

The Infection Control advice is:

  • All areas to ensure hand wipes are provided for patients and staff to use followed by hand gel
  • To ensure pulp bedpans, bottles, vomit bowls are available

Access to the Outpatient Corridor running past Pharmacy will be unavailable during the period of the works, except in emergencies.

  • The work this week will mean a loss of hot water only to Wards 3A/B/C/D, Wards 4A/B/C/D and Ward 2C/B.
  • The work will take place over several nights for a maximum of four hours at a time.

They will begin at around 10.30pm on the evenings of Tuesday, 26th March and Wednesday, 27th March and for 2C/B only Thursday, 28th March.

Cold water will still be available during this time so hand washing, basins and toilets can still be used. During this time bed pan washers will be affected due to lack of hot water.

EQUANS will be on site during this time and will inform staff when the hot water is available again and will be available for any queries.

Access to the lift lobby area on level 2 outside Ward 3 will be unavailable during the period of the works, except in emergencies.
