Radiographer, Katie Harwood, has been hard at work creating goodie bags for children who might be anxious about coming to our Radiography department.

Katie asked Children’s Hospital Charity, Starlight, if they could send any resources to improve the experience for children visiting Radiography. They kindly donated an array of toys, books, stickers and certificates which Katie has placed inside the goodie bags, alongside a play pack with word searches, colouring pages, games and motivational quotes.

Her son, Arthur, is four years old and loved testing out the goodie bags. She said: "He loved the books that were donated, especially because Spiderman is his favourite. He also loved the stickers and said he was going to do a drawing with his new dinosaur pen that was inside!

“I am really keen on improving the hospital experience for children. I am sure these resources will really put a smile back on their faces and help improve their visit to our department.”
