NEW - ReSPECT Policy 

ReSPECT is the Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment.

This Policy is aimed at providing standardised care when implementing the ReSPECT process and caring for patients with a ReSPECT form in place. It provides a description of the principles, processes, and responsibilities with regards the discussion, agreement, documentation and sharing of emergency care and treatment recommendations using the ReSPECT process and plan.

NEW - Delegation of Medication Administration to Unregistered Practitioners in the Community Healthcare Division Policy 

The purpose of delegation is to ensure the most appropriate use of skills within a health and social care team to achieve person-centred outcomes and has the potential to improve safety and quality of care and services” (NIPEC: Delegation Framework).

This new Policy supports Registered and Unregistered Practitioners in the Community Healthcare Division to delegate and accept interventions which promotes patient centred care whilst promoting patient safety.

The Medicine Code – Section 11 - Storage and Safekeeping of Medicines

  • Consultation must take place with Clinical Engineering when medicines refrigerators plan to be moved.
