The Locala Diabetes Specialist Nurses are currently working with significant reduced capacity. During this time, please continue to refer as normal however please be advised urgent essential care is being prioritised.

Urgent care is defined as:

• T2DM with hba1c >100mmol/mol + maxed out on oral therapy options only (unless isolated clinical need to deviate from this)
• NEW T1DM with a confirmed diagnosis
• T1DM with hba1c >100mmol/mol or issues with recurrent hypos or ketones (triaged on clinical need)
• CHFT Discharges
• Antenatal

Any patients added to the waiting list have been advised they can contact the service if their condition changes or deteriorates and they have an essential need.
