A commemorative plaque has been unveiled outside Ward 6a at Calderdale Royal Hospital in tribute to volunteer, Sarah Gyenge, who sadly died last year.
Both Sarah's son and sister attended the unveiling on Friday, and were joined by many colleagues who wished to pay tribute.
Speaking at the unveiling of the plaque, Volunteer Co-ordinator, Stevie Cheesman, said: "Sarah was a wonderful lady, she brought a smile to everyone she came into contact with and truly delivered compassionate care. She was truly a member of the team on Ward 6A and was very much loved by all, she was embedded into the daily functions which support staff and patients and has touched the lives of so many.
"No job was too big for Sarah, she even came forwards to support Trust-wide needs with heatwave support and distributing thousands of water bottles and ice lollies, to ironing dozens and dozens of bags for staff with our top-up shops.
"She really was a remarkable woman and she will be missed dearly.
"We wanted to honour Sarah and pay tribute. Displaying this plaque will be a daily but forever reminder of how much she meant to us all, and the least we could do in honouring her."
Sarah's son, Chris, said: "She would be thrilled. The plaque is lovely and she absolutely loves birds, so the decoration and words on the plaque she would love."
