Our Research and Development Team is busy planning an exciting event to coincide with International Clinical Trials Day.

Expanding Research Within Roles and Developing Partnerships will take place on Tuesday, 21st May, so if you like the look of what’s happening on the day, save the date in your diaries until further information is shared by the team.

R&D Administrator, Abby Harlow, seated second from right, said: “Instead of our usual information stands for International Clinical Trials Day, this year we are celebrating how we have expanded research within roles and developed new partnerships.

“We will be sharing stories of success, exploring how colleagues can help us to truly embed research in everyday practice to increase opportunities for our patients further.

Planned speakers and other guests

  • Physician Associate, Claire MacDonald. Claire developed her skills with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Associate PI scheme and is now a PI herself.
  • Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, Mohammad Allah-Ditta who leads Inflammatory Bowel Disease research as part of his role.
  • Award-winning research midwives Melanie Struthers and Rebecca Leon will share how they increased research opportunities and engagement in our Maternity Service.
  • Some of our partners from Calderdale and Kirklees will talk about the aim to increase research opportunities more widely over the next few years.
