A huge #TeamCHFT welcome to our newest cohort of University of Huddersfield student nurses, who have joined us today for their first placements.
More than 100 of them will be working across community and hospital sites in a range of settings, including departments and specialist nursing teams.
Chief Nurse, Lindsay Rudge, said: “January is an exciting time for the CHFT nursing community. Having so many new student nurses join us this year is not only testament to our strengthened relationship with the University, it’s also proof that word is getting out there about our commitment to growing our own workforce.
“I qualified more than 30 years ago, but still remember the nerves I had on my first day of training. For many, this will be their first time working in a hospital setting, and I know colleagues will give them a warm welcome and show them what One Culture of Care looks like in action.”
Huge thanks to our Clinical Education Team, who have put hours of planning in to make their first day a success.
