A huge welcome to our internationally-educated radiographers, who have spent the past fortnight having a whistle stop tour of CHFT and our local area to introduce them to the sights, sounds and weather of West Yorkshire.

Radiology Clinical Educator, CHFT Colette Cotterill, pictured middle, said: “Deepak, Sarga, Yasar, Delvin and Cyril have all had a busy time since they joined us.

“They immersed themselves into our whole induction process, taking part in last week’s welcome event with around 35 other new colleagues. They’ve had their own specific radiology induction and training day, learning more about our values and behaviours.

“In their Radiology Induction Day, they heard from key speakers at CHFT, getting valuable learning on the key essential safety training, like data awareness, fire safety, infection control and safeguarding. They also had role-specific training around our UK Radiation Legislation. Our ESR and Library Support also supported a slot, in addition to an introduction to the NHS by a member of NHS England.

“Balancing their work and pastoral needs, we also visited Halifax town centre. The highlight of their afternoon was indulging in traditional fish and chips, which all helps create memorable moments outside of the hospital setting.”
