Nine winners have been crowned at the 16th annual Health Informatics Service Awards. The awards, which were held on the 21st of December, saw a record-breaking number of THIS colleagues attending, with 220 attendees celebrating this year.
The event was opened by Chief Executive, Brendan Brown, and Chair, Helen Hirst, with reflections from the past year and a thank you to all our THIS colleagues for supporting the Trust to deliver compassionate care.
In total there were nine categories, including a brand-new Wellbeing and One Culture of Care Award, to celebrate those that have supported each other throughout the year. The winners for each category were:

Leadership Award - Jodie Holderness
Director’s Award - To the unseen heroes (for all those colleagues covering out of hours support and outages)
Employee of the Year Award – Tracy Mundell
At the event The Kirkwood Hospice were presented with a cheque of £1000 raised through fundraising and recycling old equipment by THIS, and a further £350 for CHFT’s Charity.
Presentations were given from General Manager, Kim Scholes, and Performance Information Lead, (as well as CHuFT Award Nominee), Oliver Hutchinson, who spoke about a data science approach to waiting list validation.
Joint winners of the Quality Champion Award, Alice Whitehead and Rebekah Coldwell, also presented about the successes achieved around Freedom of Information.
Our colleagues in THIS provide services not only to CHFT, but also to Wakefield, Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees primary care and across the North of England. The Awards are an occasion to highlight and celebrate the fantastic services, projects and implementations that the teams delivered in 2023.
