Physiotherapist, Morgan Angland, has started a netball team for Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) called 'No Scrubs' and is looking for fellow AHPs who would be interested in joining.
The Team is part of a social netball league which plays on Wednesday evenings at Halifax Grammar School. The current members all have mixed ability in playing netball, with some people having never played before and others who are more experienced.
Morgan, pictured left on the bottom row, said: “It is really nice to get to know other people at the Trust that you don’t get to work with directly and make new friends.”
Clinical Lead Bariatric Dietician, Melanie Langley, said: "I joined No Scrubs to get back into playing netball with a group of like-minded colleagues. It has been really good fun getting back to playing league games.
"More than that, I have really enjoyed meeting other CHFT therapists and being part of a new friendly team, we have come together through sport from different specialisms and disciplines across the trust. We are aiming for a few wins and better fitness in 2024."
Occupational Therapist, Clare Smith, said: "I have been wanting to get back to a team sport for ages. However, I haven't played any team sports since school, over 30 years ago, so I lacked the confidence to join a team. When Morgan talked about setting up a netball team at work, I jumped at the chance.
"It’s great fun being back in a team. It’s brilliant to get to know other people that work in the same Trust. Everyone has been kind and friendly, even the referees and other teams! It is great to focus on something other than life stresses and to get fitter. I look forward to playing. I would highly recommend to anyone who is interested to have a go, however long it's been since you last played."
