Here’s CHuFT Awards finalist, Clinical Operations Manager Emma Mooney, pictured right, back where it all started – her old High School, Brooksbank School in Elland.

She went along to talk to students with Clinical Educator and Development Lead for Operating Services, Zoe Matthewman.

Emma said: “We were invited along and how could we say no? It was part of a career in science session and we got to talk to year 10 triple science students about our roles within operating services, how we got into nursing and then our careers at CHFT.

"We explained the differing roles available within theatres and the wider hospital setting, and the routes available to get there including apprenticeships."

Zoe is working with the West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts to promote 'a career in surgery' and will be visiting more schools and colleges in the local area as part of this project.
