A new Integrated Performance Report (IPR) that was introduced for the Board of Directors at the start of the current financial year has received high praise from NHS England in a recent review.
The introduction of the new IPR has transformed performance reporting for CHFT, with the Trust now using best practice methodology for reporting to the Board.
CHFT's Assistant Director of Performance, Peter Keogh (pictured, right), said: "The new report took months to pull together as it was completely different to the one we'd been sharing for the past seven years.
"CHFT has a history of being able to deliver strong performance against rigorous targets over recent years. An equally strong performance management system means this can continue.
"It was a real team effort and Clinical Information Manager Sam Ingram and I are hugely appreciative and grateful for the support we've had right across the board. Everybody worked well together and the input of divisional teams must be recognised too, as they work tirelessly to try and achieve all the metrics within the report."
Feedback from NHS England's review includes:
- The report is looking fantastic, what a transformation! The difference compared to the report in 2022 is astounding. We rated your new report as 5/5. We only rated 12 out of c.210 Trusts as 5/5 and therefore CHFT is one of our exemplary reports. Well done to you and all involved!
- The focus on inequalities is again great to see. The national inequality team also used your report in our recent analyst network as a best practice example.
- In summary, the report is excellent and it is driving meaningful conversation.
