This year, our CT Scanning Team has been collecting presents for children instead of doing a team Secret Santa.

And last week, CT Radiographer, Sarah Tattersley, who came up with the idea having seen an advert from the focal centre at Oakes, took almost 60 gifts to be shared with local children.

Sarah, pictured middle, said: “What an amazing achievement in just a week. The focal centre were overwhelmed with the donation.

“The presents will be distributed locally for children that attend Lindley, Reinwood, Moorlands and Salendine Nook schools. They are given the names and ages of children that won’t be getting anything or much for Christmas and then they wrap the most suitable gifts for that child based on their age. Thank you to everyone that has contributed am hoping this can be an annual thing going forward.”

CT Team Lead HRI, Victoria Woodward, said: “I just feel so proud of the team and it’s nice to know we could be putting a smile on the face of a child who may not be receiving any gifts this Christmas.

“Many people are struggling especially at the moment and if this little contribution takes the pressure of some people, then it’s totally worth it. We all need to help each other.”

The short video below shows the gifts before Sarah took them along.
