Our Orthopaedic Outpatients Team at HRI is holding a Christmas raffle to raise much needed funds to update the department and improve their childrens' facilities.
The department cares for lots of children, both in dedicated children's clinics and fracture clinics, many of whom have complex needs and they may have to go through procedures which they find scary or uncomfortable.
Sister, Jane Cash, said: “We want to make the area more friendly and inviting by updating the department and investing in a dedicated play area with sensory toys, activities and distractions.
To raise funds for this, we are holding a Christmas raffle with some amazing prizes kindly donated by many local (and some not-so-local) businesses.
“I wanted to thank Clinical Support Worker, Stacey Bywater (middle). She has done a fantastic job of organising the raffle with Tracey Duce and help from Neha Takhar (pictured).”
Prizes include a Christmas food and drink hamper, spa hamper, Harvey Nichols hamper and vouchers and a Yankee Candle Centrepiece.
If you would like to buy a ticket, the team will be doing the rounds at HRI, or they can be bought from Orthopaedic Outpatients Department at HRI. They cost £2 for five tickets to be drawn on Monday, 18th December.
The team will also be in the main entrance at HRI between 09:00 and 15:00 this coming Friday, 15th December with a bake sale – or until the stocks run out.
