A new film is shining a light on our team of 20 orthoptists and orthoptic technicians, who see around 15,000 patients between them every year.

They’re probably one of the least-known Allied Health Professions, yet the small team see outpatients, inpatients and children in local schools.

The "Day in the Life of an Orthoptist" video follows on from April's film, which focused on the work of occupational therapists at CHFT.

AHP Clinical Educator, Arley Byrne, said: "We chose to put our Orthoptists in the spotlight because as an AHP group they're often one of the lesser known siblings!

"The public have often heard about the work of other allied health professions, but never really mention our eye friends. Hopefully this film will help change that."
