Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology will be in use in all our car parks at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Acre Mills Outpatients and the Staff Car park at Acre Mills from Monday, 18th December 2023.
You may see the equipment already being installed, but it will not be switched on until then.
There will be no changes to the amount you pay, or how it is deducted from your salary, but colleagues will need to apply for a digital permit by next February. We’re allowing plenty of time for applications, to make sure as many colleagues as possible are captured.
Colleagues who have a current parking permit will need to apply for a virtual permit through the Nexus portal (the company managing our ANPR system). This is because each colleague will have their own account that will give them the ability to manage their own profile, such as a change in vehicle, or adding a second vehicle.
Colleagues who do not currently have a permit but wish to apply for one, will also be able to apply through the same Nexus portal.
When can I apply?
The portal will be available for you to apply for your virtual permit in the week commencing Monday, 11th December and we are asking colleagues to have completed their application by Monday, 5th February 2024.
More information
- If you park at HRI or Acre Mills, you will need a virtual permit, but you will not need to display a permit or use your barrier access card.
- You will need to continue to display your old-style paper permit at CRH until further notice.
- No enforcement notices will be issued to existing and new permit holders until the Car Parking Team are assured that all interested colleagues have applied for their virtual permits. This will be part of the next steps.
We'll be providing lots of information and Frequently Asked Questions in the coming week, through all our communications channels and the car parking intranet page.
