Last week we celebrated our incredible colleagues at our first in person Long Service Award event since Covid.

Billy Joel was topping the charts with Uptown Girl 40 years ago, just as many were setting out on their careers here at CHFT. One of those was Clinical Commander, Louise Taylor.

Louise said: “It is tough at times working in the NHS, but the advancements in medicine are amazing. Why do I work at CHFT? Why would I go anywhere else!”

Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Catherine Whitaker (pictured below) said: “I couldn’t have wished to work for any better or for a better organisation than CHFT.”

Ward Clerk, Tracey Porter (pictured below) said: “The best moments in my career have been being able to support my team.”

Chief Executive, Brendan Brown, said: “It was wonderful to join the Long Service Awards last week, especially since we were able to present the awards in person.

"Celebrating a collective combined service of more than 400 years with remarkable colleagues, we honour not only their years of dedication but the profound impact they’ve made across the full range of services in our hospital and community services, for our colleagues, and for our patients and their families.”

*Several other Long Service Award colleagues were unable to make this event but will be invited to a future event to collect their certificate.
