To mark National Grief Week (2-8 December), The Kirkwood Hospice and Healthwatch Kirklees are planning a social media campaign to share stories and direct people to grief support available in Kirklees.
The campaign aims to normalise talking about death, dying and grief. Part of what they are doing is creating a video with voiceovers, talking about what death and dying mean to people, with a diverse range of people (including young people) sharing their experiences.
Get involved
The Kirkwood is asking people to get involved by sharing a short (written or video) response to one of the following prompts, which they will then use on social media during the Awareness Week.
Prompts (or write your own):
When I was grieving, it helped to…
Things that stopped me from asking for help…
When my loved one died, it made me feel…
What’s helped me to cope is…
I help people with their grief by…
When you are grieving, it is important to remember...
Responses should be sent to: sadaf.adnan@thekirkwood.org.uk.
