A new Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) induction pack has been developed to guide managers to provide a supportive and informative start to employment at CHFT.
Matron for Surgery and Anaesthesia, Sarah Wallwork, said: "Inductions are an opportunity to welcome your new HCSW into your team and help them to settle in, provide them with the support they need to gain the knowledge and skills to perform the role to a high standard, efficiently.
"A HCSW with a good induction, who is well integrated into your team with a buddy and has a safe space to ask questions and voice issues is more likely to feel satisfied at work and stay."
Using this pack
The pack can be found below and also on the New Starter intranet page.
Many different departments, wards, directorates and divisions have contributed to developing this induction pack, as one size does not fit all.
So, this document should be downloaded and edited (handy highlighted sections show you what needs editing) to provide the most up to date and relevant information for you and your new starter.
Sarah added: "I'd like thank a few colleagues for supporting the project. Louise Croxhall, Stevie O'Connell, The Calderdale Community Nursing Team and Rebecca Beaumont have been instrumental with their support.
Associate Director of Nursing (Corporate), Andrea Dauris, said: "A massive thanks to Sarah for leading this piece of work and making it happen."
