A reminder that our BloodTrack system is being upgraded tomorrow, which means it will be unavailable between 09:00 and 17:00 on Tuesday, 14th November.
The upgrade is system-wide and will also require all Zebra devices to be upgraded throughout the week.
What will this mean?
All Zebra devices will need an upgrade. Our colleagues from The Health Informatics Service will be visiting all departments to support this between Tuesday and Friday this week. Please see the schedule below.
Handwritten samples will only be accepted between 09:00 – 17:00 on 14th November 2023.
Please order blood and blood components early if you can
Where possible, clinical areas should send samples and request blood and blood components needed for tomorrow, Tuesday, 14th November, by today Monday 13th November to ensure that these are available. Blood will be stored within the laboratory on 14th November and must be signed out of the laboratory using the transfusion care pathway.
Prior to administration of blood components, there must be a two-person manual check of both the unit and compatibility label.
Note* Once the upgrade and testing has been completed, you will be able to continue to use the App on your device. The old version of the App will still be on devices until upgraded. IT will visit your area as per the schedule to add the new App to your designated Zebras and iPads.
Unfortunately dates and times cannot be changed due to the planning involved. However, the technicians may be with you sooner than scheduled. Please contact Sam Kershaw (sam.kershaw@cht.nhs.uk) should there be any issues.
Please ensure that all Zebra PDAs are fully charged, decontaminated, and made available to the technicians on the dates and times indicated below.
