Consultant Head and Neck Radiologist, Professor Elizabeth Loney, has recently been elected to Fellowship of the British Institute of Radiology (BIR).

The BIR is the oldest Radiology Society in the world and has a diverse membership, covering all aspects of imaging. It runs conferences, delivers in-person and online education, and publishes the British Journal of Radiology.  Fellows are nominated in writing by members of the Institute and selected by its Council. They may use the letters FBIR after their name once elected.

BIR President, Professor Stephen Keevil, said: “This accolade is in recognition of Elizabeth’s long and loyal support of the BIR, in particular launching and establishing the Leadership and Management Special Interest Group.”

Elizabeth said: “This is a great honour and completely unexpected. To be recognised by my peers for contributions made is both humbling and greatly appreciated. I hope to continue working with the BIR in years to come.”

Well done, Elizabeth!
