The West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board are looking for colleagues who could help provide short video messages in Urdu, Punjabi and Polish.
The videos will be part of a campaign called Seriously, which aims to highlight the risks of inappropriate antibiotic use. To educate and inform patients about when antibiotics should and should not be used and to encourage patients to self-care appropriately. The campaign is targeting specific areas where there is a higher use of antibiotics and could be played in GP practices across Kirklees.
The campaign needs three people (or less if more than one language spoken) to record a very short clip for each video which would mean reading lines similar to the following:
"Antibiotics treat bacteria, not viruses. Therefore, infections such as colds, flu, most coughs and sore throats, will get better on their own and will not require antibiotics.
“The less we rely on and use antibiotics, the more effective they will be when we really need them. Always speak to a healthcare professional, such as your GP or local pharmacist, about the right treatment for you."
If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Sarah Chadwick by Monday, 6th November. The team will then contact you to arrange a best time and venue for recording, which would take place before Monday 13th November.
See the Seriously campaign website for more information about inappropriate antibiotic use.
