Our joint winners of the Work Together Get Results category are the ED Transition Team, for their efforts in bringing the new HRI ED to fruition.
Head Nurse for Urgent and Emergency Care, Tom Ladlow, spoke on behalf of the team on stage saying: "The team picking up this award is much bigger than that on the stage. It's really been a true CHFT affair. Every division, every directorate has played a part.
"It's a true testament to us as an organisation. The willingness of everyone to come together with teamwork, as the category says - that's the culture at CHFT and what makes this team so special.
"The transformation has touched everybody and although this is an award for the Transition Team, actually it's really an award for the whole of CHFT tonight."
A snippet of their nomination read: “The team had a huge challenge, effectively planning the practical move from the old Emergency Department (ED) to the new ED. The detail is almost mind-boggling and has required focus on a day-to-day basis. The team have truly owned this challenge and it has been done with a constant focus on teamwork and respect for the views of all involved.”
Our other finalists were Andrea Jimenez, The Patient Cancer Pathway Team and The Cancer Nurse Specialist Team. Well done to them all for being shortlisted.
