This morning I’m absolutely delighted - or rather should I say chuffed - to share with you all the winners from last night’s 2023 CHuFT Awards in this special edition of CHFT News.
You’ll be able to tell from the smiles on the winners’ faces that it was a true celebration of the work you all do, and even the wet and windy weather couldn’t dampen the spirits. In fact, if anything was taking the roof off venue in Halifax, it was the sound of colleagues celebrating, very loudly, the team spirit of #TeamCHFT.
I only wish we could have invited all 6,500 of you so you could soak up the atmosphere. Though as we streamed the event over Teams for the first-time ever, colleagues could watch the action from the comfort of their own homes, and almost 100 colleagues tuned in. You can watch it back here via Teams.
Our Communications Team received a message this morning from Critical Care and Professional Lead Dietitian, Karen Turkington, who said: "Just wanted to say a big thank you for the live streaming of the awards ceremony last night, it was so lovely to log on and watch the awards."
And whilst we heard so many inspiring stories last night, operationally we remain extremely busy in our hospitals and across breadth of community services. So, before you scroll down to read about our winners, please take this as a heartfelt thank you from me for the way you continue to step up and work so flexibly to support our patients and each other.
As I’ve said many times before, you’re all winners in my eyes.
Enjoy the read – the stories behind them are really uplifting – and keep looking out for one another.
Brendan
