As the NHS moves into its 75th year, it's a reminder of the crucial role our overseas colleagues play here at CHFT.

Matron for Workforce Development, Vicki Power, said: "This year we hope to support up to 60 new international nurses and we are also working with maternity and Allied AHPs to recruit three Occupational Therapists and five midwives.

"Over the past two years we've really increased the number of appointments. We now recruit as many nurses from overseas as through our graduate programme, so Friday will be a real chance to celebrate the contribution they make.

"Countries we have recruited from over the last year are:  Zimbabwe, Barbados, Philippines, India, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Singapore, Kenya and Ghana, so we're creating a real multi-cultural workforce."

The new generic international mailbox is IER@cht.nhs.uk and the team are particularly keen to hear from anyone that would like to support one of our next cohort of recruits.

If you work alongside an amazing international colleague, send us their photo (with their permission for us to use it) telling us where they’re from and about their contribution to your team/work area and we’ll share it on our social media channels on Friday. Email communications@cht.nhs.uk
