Today the next key phase in the construction of the new A&E at HRI on South Drive gets underway.

Work will begin on the existing link bridge from the HRI building to surgical SDEC and, from Tuesday onwards, this will see increased noise levels and potentially some dust.

We have increased insulation, ventilation and air filtration measures in place for the duration of the work and the site will be regularly monitored.

The work is expected to last 2-3 weeks at the most and for the duration, as a precautionary measure, our Infection Prevention and Control colleagues have requested that all windows in Block 1 which are facing the new ED (ie south facing)  and the areas closest to the site are kept closed.
