The male Wudu room at HRI – where Muslim colleagues can prepare for their prayers and worship – has re-opened after a significant refurbishment.

The room needed a lot of work doing to it. There was a sunken sink, rotten timber flooring, failed vinyl flooring and unhygienic paint and finishes.

It has since been stripped and re-decorated with hygienic paint and finishes. The flooring timbers, along with the anti-slip flooring systems, have both been replaced and new plumbing, pipework and sanitary wares have been installed. New soap and towel dispensers will be installed after the room has been deep cleaned, in preparation for re-opening.

The re-fit needed multiple trades to complete it, including decorators, joiners, plumbers, electricians, flooring specialists, and domestic services. A big thank you to everyone involved with the project, including CHS Estates Compliance Manager, Lee Sinnott who specified and managed the works.

And no Estates project would be complete without our Maintenance Supervisor and resident model, Steve Rich (pictured).
