Last year we overspent on equipment hire, mainly on standard size chairs. Please make sure to hire responsibly and stopthink and go before ordering equipment.

Stop

  • Why are you hiring?
  • What is the clinical decision for hiring?
  • Is there equipment in the Trust that can be used instead?

Think

  • If hiring chairs, give Five Mobility the relevant measurements.
  • Do you need training? If so, let Five Mobility know.

Go

Once the equipment is no longer required, arrange for collection, and stop the spending clock.

A few other things to remember:

  • Please closely monitor what you are ordering.
  • Once an item is no longer needed, contact Five Mobility immediately to collect and stop the charge.
  • Monthly monitoring of ordered equipment will be carried out by the Moving and Handling Team.
