Senior Neurophysiologist, Gill Mills and IMS Operations Manager, Samantha Croll, are celebrating after learning our Neurophysiology Department has again achieved their certification of ‘UKAS accreditation for IQIPS’ (Improving Quality in Physiological Services). They are only the second in the country to do so for the 2.1 2023 version.

The IQIPS scheme is managed and delivered by UKAS, who support the delivery of physiological services based on a formal assurance process by assessing against clearly defined standards. NHS England, the ICB, NHS Improvement and professional physiology bodies all recognise the importance of IQIPS in contributing to quality outcomes for patients.

Gill and Samantha managed the process, with Sam saying: "We are absolutely delighted to have achieved this. It has been incredibly challenging at times, but we have all worked together tirelessly as a team and pushed forward to achieve our goal. It is extremely important for us as a team to feel assured that the quality of the service provided to our patients is first class.”

Chief Operating Officer, Jonathan Hammond, said: "This is really fantastic, well done. It’s a real achievement for you and the team."

Not only this, but they are one of the first Neurophysiology Services to have the majority of their testing information available as easy read leaflets. A huge well done to our Neurophysiology Team.
