A new Health and Wellbeing Board in Families and Specialist Services (F&SS) is supporting and promoting the ideas of divisional colleagues – all because they took the time to complete the 2022 NHS Staff Survey.

The aim of the inclusive group is to enhance colleagues’ experiences at work, providing opportunities to support them proactively so they can support their own physical and mental wellbeing. They work with colleagues in the division to create positive change, as well as consider ways to recognise and reward.

Assistant Director of Nursing, Simon Riley-Fuller, said: “Since starting up our Wellbeing Board, we have worked hard at establishing the monthly meetings to include directorate representation, supported by our Workforce and Organisational colleagues.

“In July we ran a wellbeing month and have been to areas to talk to colleagues and listen to their ideas. We also invited our Non-Executive Director, Denise Sterling, to come and talk to our teams.

“Other divisions have asked to hear more about how our Health and Wellbeing Board works, which is really positive for us.”

Other activities that happened because of colleagues sharing their views in the survey include:

  • ‘Here to listen’ sessions for various directorates
  • Daily huddles and regular team meetings reinstated
  • An increase in the number of wellbeing ambassadors
  • Posters created in Pathology so that colleagues had an at-a-glance view of senior management, first aiders and wellbeing champions
  • All new colleagues joining the division meet with senior management
  • Employee Forums have been run to raise awareness of bullying and harassment, violence and aggression, disabilities and reasonable adjustments and how everyone can play a part

You can still take part in the NHS Staff Survey

It's open until the 26th November. Reminders will be sent regularly if you haven't completed yours yet. The first one is due to hit mailboxes today.

It takes around 15 minutes, and you can have the time to complete this during your working hours. Let us know your views so we can identify the changes we need to make to improve services and the Trust as a place to work.

Responses to this survey are strictly confidential. We cannot see your completed survey or be able to identify individual responses. This short video explains how data is collected and kept strictly confidential as part of the survey process.
