Our colorectal nurses recently held on open day for stoma care patients – and more than 170 of them came along with their families, friends and supporters.

The were able to view stoma care products, meet with nurses, Macmillan advisors, company representatives, support groups and have a chat with others who are living with a stoma over a cuppa.

Specialist Nurse, Helen Ilsley, said: “It was a huge success and great to see so many people come along.  We received lovely evaluations which included:

• "Really approachable, knowledgeable and friendly representatives on the stalls"
• "Saw fab stoma nurses and team members"
• "Huge wealth and breadth of products"
• "Good to chat with professionals with knowledge and personal experience"
