Community Specialist Palliative Care Nurses, Jane Senior and Christine Jackson, recently went above and beyond the call of duty to help a member of the public who was in need.

Describing the night's events, Jane Senior said: "We were driving to see one of our palliative patients at around 3am and we saw a young person on the side of the road in distress, so we turned the car around.

"We spoke to them and were concerned for their wellbeing, so we called the Police for support. When the Police arrived, they advised that the young person was a high-risk missing person."

Liz Morley, Associate Director of Nursing for Community, said: "They had already spent several hours supporting a vulnerable patient whose medical equipment had failed keeping him safe, and preventing an unnecessary hospital admission until an engineer could attend to resolve the fault.

"They then supported this vulnerable young person. Thank you Jane and Christine for going above and beyond."
