A fond farewell to Staff Nurse, Elaine Baines, who has retired from the central community district nurse team.
Elaine qualified in 1977, and after having a break to start a family, she joined Overgate Hospice where she worked for more that 20 years as a specialist palliative care nurse.
From there she managed a care home in Leeds, eventually joining our Community Healthcare Division in 2018.
Elaine is looking forward to her retirement and spending more time with her family and friends. She’ll have time to enjoy her hobbies of crafting, sewing and travelling.
Elaine told the team at her leaving do that she has "enjoyed working in a service that is very caring and works to a high standard care." She added that she feels "they are the best nurses [she] has ever worked for, and will miss them, all as well as [her] patients.”
Nursing Associate, Roisin Crotty made the retirement cake for the bash.
