Applications for the next Future Leaders Apprenticeship Programme, run by Calderdale College, are open until Friday, 15th September.

The programme builds on professional experience and background, and will enhance your ability to lead and develop others, as well as providing the technical skills needed to shine here at CHFT.

It’s just one way we’re keen to help Grow Our Own both internally and in conjunction with external partners. Our new e-Roster Team Manager and one of last year’s Rising Apprentice CHuFT Award winners, Rebecca Beaumont, below, took the course as part of her development. 

She said: "It was challenging and rewarding, giving me the skills and knowledge to set the foundation for a strong leader."

The programme is due to start on Wednesday 11 October. You need to register your interest by Friday 15th September.

What do I do if I’m interested?

If you would like to apply for the programme, please complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the attached CHFT Expression of Interest Form https://forms.office.com/e/xXsbF9r684
  2. Also please send an expression of interest email to apprenticeships@calderdale.ac.uk indicating why you would like to join the programme by Friday 15th September.
  3. Join a briefing session to hear more about the programme, with the opportunity to ask any questions. Dates for these sessions will be communicated this week.
  4. Your application will be reviewed, and a member of the Calderdale College apprenticeship team will be in contact to arrange a suitability discussion.
  5. You will then be notified of the outcome of your application, with next steps provided.
  6. Please ensure you fully complete the CHFT internal  “Apprenticeship Levy Application”, so that Levy payment can be authorised by CHFT’s Apprenticeship and Widening Employment Team. Failure to complete it is likely to result in your place being withdrawn.

More about the apprenticeship

  • Half-day sessions will be delivered every two weeks at Calderdale College, with the alternate week used for off-the-job learning
  • The programme length is two years
  • Participants will achieve Level 5 Operations/Departmental apprenticeship alongside an accredited Level 5 ILM leadership and management qualification

The programme has been designed to support and develop future leadership and management talent across the public, private and voluntary sectors in Calderdale through an apprenticeship programme.

Through this programme you will be provided with:

  • An enhanced and fully accredited apprenticeship programme of experience, learning, development and work across the partner organisations
  • A broad experience and knowledge of experiencing the range of services and functions delivered by each of the partners
  • A professional and supported peer network of Calderdale other apprentices.

The programme will build on your current professional experience and background to enhance your ability to lead and develop others, whilst providing the technical skills needed to be an effective manager.

The programme can support you to understand what it takes to deliver high performance and results and can present you with the skills and knowledge needed.
