Here’s Clinical Manager for Orthoptics and Optometry, Emma Griffiths, with the fridge she managed to get from another department – and it’s also down to Emma that we have a new section on the intranet noticeboard for recycling within CHFT.

Emma said: “I thought it would be a great idea to have a Trust freecycle page so that colleagues and areas could advertise unwanted equipment, stationery, furniture and excess stock.

“It’s all too easy to buy new each time you need something in your area, from box files and chairs, to refrigerators and surgical gloves.  To reduce waste and save money, wouldn’t it be better if we could see if anyone else has the things we need going spare first? 

“Excess stock? Furniture no longer required? Let’s recycle it.  Add your items to the intranet noticeboard or ask for things you need and let’s see what we can achieve.”
