Our Orthoptics Team are saving time when seeing patients, as they’ve recently qualified to give some medication without having to find a clinician first.
Clinical Manager for Orthoptics and Optometry, Emma Griffiths said: “Quite often we’ll see patients in clinic who are never destined to see a doctor.
“In the past, if we’ve needed to give medication, we’ve had to leave our patient to locate a clinician so they can help.
“Being able to supply and administer some of the common medicines for our patients isn’t just improving their experience, it also means we can make better use of orthoptists’ skills within the multi-disciplinary team at a time where there is an increasing demand on ophthalmology services.”
