He plays clarinet, sax and double bass, and plays with Slaithwaite Philharmonic and Paddock Orchestra.
Now our Nurse Consultant for Mental Health, Ian Noonan, is seeing if we have musical colleagues who would like to be part of a CHFT band.
It all started after Ian saw a story on the intranet that a donated keyboard destined for patients had gone missing.
He said, "I saw the "missing keyboard" notice and thought that connections I have via the Huddersfield Musician's page on Facebook would be able to help, so I posted a request and within minutes there was a positive response.
"I trained as a music therapist before I trained as a mental health nurse and have worked with lots of groups to promote the therapeutic use of music in health and social care.
"Using music to fuel connections, distract, entertain, express ourselves, and celebrate special events has always been a core part of my work. The post on Twitter reveals there are lots of musicians working in the Trust"...
...so is anyone up for a CHFT band? If so, please send an email to ian.noonan@cht.nhs.uk
