As nominations for our annual CHuFT Awards roll in - almost 60 have been submitted - the Engagement Team has been asking previous winners what it felt like to be nominated and how things have changed since the big Awards night last November.

Here’s the thoughts of the Urgent Community Response (UCR) Team / Virtual Ward who won the Work Together Get Results category. Thanks to UCR Team Manager Susan Johnson for sharing.

How did it feel knowing you’d been nominated and then becoming a finalist?

It felt unexpected and overwhelming to be nominated. The team felt really proud that they had been acknowledged for all their hard work and dedication in supporting the new ways of working within the community.

How did it feel when you were announced as the winner of your category and what did this mean to you all?

Unbelievable and incredibly proud. We have the award in pride of place in our new base at Westgate House

Has anything changed since the awards?

The team have grown to support the community vision of supporting patients in their own home.

What did you like most about the event?

The whole event. It was really sociable and great to talk to colleagues that we wouldn't normally meet. We felt appreciated, oh and the meal was lush.
