Bank Phlebotomist, Jane Stewart is running The Great North run in September to raise money for Blood Cancer UK to honour her phlebotomy colleague, Debbie Moore, who recently died after a short illness.

Jane will be running the half marathon to help raise the profile of her chosen charity saying: “Blood Cancer UK helps and supports affected people and their families, when most needed. My goal was to raise £400 to help them continue to benefit those affected by leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and all other types of blood cancer, and to help continue their research. I'm astounded and grateful to have already reached that amount for such a worthy cause.”

Debbie is the main reason why I'm doing this, but I also want to give back to the phlebotomy service after I retired two years ago. Raising money for blood cancer feels appropriate."
