She began her career at CHFT in 1985 on the Arthur and Ada Children's Ward at the Royal Halifax Infirmary – and this week sees yet another change of direction for Head of eRostering Nursing and Midwifery Services, Rose Hagreen, as she retires from her full time role to focus on spending time with her family.

Rose said: “My career path has taken me through many reconfigured versions of children’s wards across both sites in various roles. There was even a trip to Number 10 in 2007 to meet the Prime Minister for ‘delivering excellence in public services’, after introducing distraction and preparation for children and young people undergoing painful or unpleasant procedures in the Trust.

“It was in 2014 that I ventured into the world of eRostering, and here I am, retiring exactly 38 years to the day of my first shift.

“That’s crazy, isn’t it! Where has all the time gone? It says something about CHFT’s vision and values that inspired me to stay with the Trust for my full working career.

"There have been many conversations over the years about the need to go to university and get a degree to move forward in my career. Well, I’m now retiring as a Head of Service, so somehow I managed to find my own way!

“I feel incredibly fortunate to have been offered the opportunity to retire and return - so it’s going to be two days a week for me from October, returning to my role of Head of eRostering non-Medical Services.  I’ll be supported by my fabulous team – that’s us pictured out celebrating last week – who work so hard to make the service a success. It’s great to also welcome new eRostering Team Manager, Rebecca Beaumont, former Healthcare Support Worker Recruitment Lead.

“I’m looking forward to having time to enjoy life and be present in the moments it brings, instead of juggling the balls alongside spending time with the important people in my life.

“We’re having our first grandbaby at the beginning of September, so my immediate plans are to spend September having baby snuggles.

“The eRostering team will be in the Wireworks from 4pm on Friday 18th August, if anyone wants to pop in and join us after work.”
