The Mid Yorkshire Teaching Hospital Trust (MYTT) has been awarded the Regional Training Centre (RTC) for endoscopy training across West Yorkshire and will work with the Yorkshire Training Academy (YETA) to deliver the new NHS England training model for endoscopy. The RTC will provide accelerated and coordinated training to support a resilient and skilled endoscopy workforce, focusing on issues such as skills gaps, recruitment, Joint Advisory Group (JAG) on GI Endoscopy standards and NHS needs.

Starting in September 2023, the centre will coordinate and deliver immersion training to endoscopy trainees, providing equity of training regardless of their medical or clinical background. The centre will support the delivery of endoscopy training across all WYAAT sites and develop virtual working to further enhance the learning process and experience.
