Thank you to everyone who nominated their Green Heroes during this year’s Yorkshire Sustainability Week. You can see them in the attachment below. We've had 'bin rooters', switch off experts and ardent recycling fans.

This year’s winner is Occupational Therapist, Dana Harrison, for helping reduce energy wastage and sharing her interests outside of work with her colleagues. With a little help from David Attenborough!

Dana was nominated by Occupational Therapist, Leanne Holroyd, who said: “Dana reminds us daily the importance of simple things like switching lights off and unplugging chargers when not in use. She’s a fan of David Attenborough programmes and regularly fills us in on the information she has learned. She is a keen activist and often reminds us that little steps can make big strides to help the environment. Dana embodies the Green Hero status.”

At CHFT we have a target to reach net zero emissions by 2040, and we have developed an ambitious Green Plan to ensure we are making progress to reach this goal. Achieving our plans will only be possible if we work together as a team to be more environmentally friendly, and even the smallest actions go a long way to making the NHS greener!

You can see all the nominations below.
