There’s only one thing Community Physio, Julie Taylor likes more than supporting her stroke patients – and that’s cycling. So she’s combining her love for both by aiming to cycle 150 miles on Sunday to raise funds for the Stroke Association.
Julie said: “I’ve been a physiotherapist for 34 years, and about 28 of those have been working with stroke patients in all settings – from hospital admission, through to their long term rehab in the community, and feel privileged every day to be able to help them rebuild their lives.
I’ve loved cycling for EVEN longer, and I’ve always wanted to see how far I could cycle in a day, so I thought I’d put my two passions together and do a sponsored ride in aid of the Stroke Association who do great work supporting stroke patients.
“My aim is to do 150 miles, maybe even a bit more if the wind is with me! Though I had a bit of a setback last weekend when I badly sprained my ankle 13 miles into a 26-mile sponsored walk, but fingers crossed with a bit of self ‘physioing’ I’ll still manage it!”
