Here’s Chloe Ward and Sarah Kenningley – our first pair of nurses to graduate after working their way through three apprenticeships at CHFT.
They began their careers here as healthcare assistant apprentices (HCAs). After qualifying as HCAs, they both took up trainee nursing associate apprenticeships. And finally, they completed a registered degree nurse apprenticeship.
Chloe, left, who now works on the Surgical Assessment Unit at HRI, worked at Tesco on the checkout until the day before she joined CHFT.
She said: “I’d urge anyone thinking about an apprenticeship to go for it. It’s an amazing way to learn and I really felt like part of the team throughout all of my apprenticeships.
“You get a really great experience as well as being paid to learn. Just go for it!”
Sarah started in the Trust in September 2016 and now works in Theatre in the Elective surgery Unit at HRI. Chloe started in the Trust in July 2017 and works on SAU at HRI.
