Last weekend Patient Pathway Manager, Gail Boyle’s mum, Elizabeth was rushed into hospital. Thankfully she’s back home but Gail and her family were so grateful, that she contacted Jo Whiley on BBC Radio 2 to share their thanks.

You can hear the clip below in the attachments.

Gail said: “She made such a quick recovery due to the care she received.  From the ambulance service to A&E and to the ward, the care she received and the timing of everything was 110%.  This was during the strikes and the staff made sure this didn’t affect any of the care she received.

“From the healthcare workers to senior staff, their attention was genuine and passionate.

“It’s rare you manage to get a shout-out on Radio 2 and we were surprised when we did.  I’m in competition with one of my amazing consultants Adrian Smith and his wife Janet to see who can get the most mentions on the Radio 2, and I think I could be in the lead now.”

Gail’s niece Claire is also doing a charity skydive at the end of August to raise money for Dementia UK – despite having a massive fear of heights. She’s already raised almost £900.
