Colleagues on the Discharge Lounge at HRI are waving farewell to Healthcare Assistant (HCA) Jayne Nogy this week, after she returned to CHFT on a contract in 2020 following her retirement.

And to make sure colleagues don't forget her, Jayne gave the team a picture with her mantra 'Be the reason someone smiles today'.

Jane has worked at the Trust for 24 years, beginning her career as a Bank HCA, but loved it so much she got a permanent role, working on Ward 19 for many years. She has also worked in outpatient services, such as the Pain Clinic and Orthopaedic Outpatients.

Ward Manager, Kath Stubbington, said: “Jayne has so much time and many, many smiles for colleagues and patients. She’s always baking sweet treats and making sure everyone gets a slice. During her time here she’s made many friendships with people from lots of departments.

“She makes a difference to the patient’s journey home treating them with kindness and compassion and always remembers the relatives. She will be missed by not just all in the discharge lounge, but many others within HRI I’m sure.

“Jane’s journey will continue in the NHS - at Brackenbed Care Home as an equipment therapy lead for those going into the community – so she’s still going to be supporting patients discharged from CHFT.”
