What is a Shadow Board?

This year, CHFT will be launching a Shadow Board.

A Shadow Board is much like a Shadow Cabinet in parliament. It offers people real-life experience of operating in an executive role, in a safe and developmental space.

It’s a great way for aspiring senior leaders to build confidence and gain knowledge about how the Board operates.

CHFT’s Shadow Board will also provide our leadership team and Board of Directors with new and diverse perspectives and insights.

Commitments

Those appointed to the Shadow Board will serve an initial twelve months in role, meeting monthly.

There will be six meetings (in line with Board meetings) and six development sessions. Members will receive papers at the same time as Board, and meetings will be chaired by our Deputy Chief Executives, who will then feedback into the Board meeting.

How to apply

If you would like to express your interest in this opportunity, please complete this form. We are particularly keen to hear from colleagues from minority groups.

The closing date for expressions of interest is 21st July 2023 and the Shadow Board membership will be confirmed by 4 August 2023.
