Our Speciality Doctor, Trauma and Orthopaedic Andrea Jimenez is our latest CHuFT Star Award* winner – and a national top recruiter.

Her nominator Consultant, Simon Sturdee, pictured with Andrea and CEO Brendan, said: “Andrea has been in the hospital at 5am regularly for over three months recruiting for the national neck of femur WHiTE LIT trial.”

Andrea has been praised by the organisers of the study in Oxford and it now seems HRI is the biggest recruiting site nationally. In the last study update there have been 100 patients recruited nationally and Andrea alone recruited 30 of those!

Mr Sturdee, adds: “This is all done in her own time and this type of research work will make a huge difference to this vulnerable group of patients and improve the care we provide to our patients.

A shocked and humble Andrea couldn't quite believe Simon had nominated her, saying "I was just doing my job."4
