Surgical Outpatients Staff Nurse, Nikki Demirhan has set up a page to raise funds for Save the Children, following the devastating earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria last week.

Nikki said: “My husband TJ is Turkish. Some of his family live in the villages in the areas where the earthquake occurred in Turkey. Whilst TJ’s family are thankfully safe, we’re both obviously worried and feel helpless. He has friends that have already lost loved ones which is devastating.

"We couldn’t sit by and do nothing, so we’ve set up a Just Giving page to raise vital funds for Save the Children. Many have lost parents and members of their families and will need support for years to come. Seeing their faces in the news really hits home.

"I'm well aware that times are really tough at the moment and know it’s a big ask. But as they say – every little helps.

"Thank you in advance. Any amount will help."
